Children explore these topics through games, manipulatives, and interactive lessons that develop the foundational skills needed for future reading and writing, as well as fine and gross motor skills.
Weekly library, music, and gym classes, plus field trips and special in-school programs, bring the curriculum to life and offer a variety of stimulating experiences.
As part of our cooperative approach, parents are welcomed into the classroom several times throughout the year, allowing families to actively share in their child’s learning and connect with our community.
Here, children not only develop essential skills but also form friendships, gain confidence, and feel a deep sense of belonging — while parents experience the joy of being part of a supportive, connected preschool family.

A lively and nurturing environment where curiosity, creativity, and independence blossom. At this age, children are eager explorers—asking questions, forming friendships, and discovering new ways to express themselves. Our teachers guide this natural enthusiasm through thoughtfully planned play, small-group experiences, and hands-on activities that promote cooperation, communication, problem-solving, and self-confidence.
The curriculum builds on emerging skills in language, early literacy, and number awareness, while encouraging creativity, fine motor development, and social-emotional growth. Through interactive lessons, art, sensory exploration, and imaginative play, children strengthen the foundation needed for later reading, writing, and critical thinking.
Themes such as community helpers, nature, friendship, holidays, and the changing seasons make learning meaningful and connected to the world around them. Weekly gym, music, and library classes, along with special in-school programs and field trips, offer additional opportunities for movement, self-expression, and discovery.
In keeping with our cooperative philosophy, parents are invited into the classroom several times each year to share in their child’s experiences and connect with the teachers and school community. Whether you need a little extra time in your day or your child just wants to stay and play with friends, Lunch & Play is a wonderful and flexible way to extend the fun of the school day.

MUSIC: In addition to the songs and musical activities woven into everyday classroom life, each preschool class enjoys a weekly music session with our dedicated music teacher. Through these sessions, children explore rhythm, movement, and creative expression in a joyful, engaging setting. Children also have the opportunity to shine as performers in two concerts throughout the year, building confidence and a love of music along the way.
MINDFULNESS: Each week, an instructor will lead our preschoolers in a short, playful mindfulness session-think belly breaths, mindful listening, and learning to name big feelings. Research shows that even brief mindfulness practice helps young children build focus, emotional regulation, and kindness toward others, and parents often find these skills making their way right into the home. These small but mighty practices give children a lifelong toolkit for navigating big emotions and everyday challenges with calm and confidence. We're so excited to offer this wonderful program to the Co-Op!
PHYSICAL EDUCATION: To complement children's daily movement and free play, weekly gym classes are offered for all age groups. Our PE teacher designs a thoughtful curriculum that focuses on developing gross motor skills, body awareness, and coordination through engaging activities like cooperative parachute games, basic tumbling, obstacle courses, and introductory ball skills, while also fostering important social skills such as cooperation, sharing, and teamwork in a fun, supportive, and encouraging environment.
LIBRARY: Each class visits our well-stocked school library once a week, where children are invited to explore and borrow books connected to their current classroom themes and studies. With over 6,000 books to discover, our library program nurtures a genuine love of reading and literature, while also teaching children the responsibility of borrowing and caring for books. It is a cherished part of our week that helps bring learning to life beyond the classroom.
