What Does it Mean To Be Part of a Co-Op Preschool?
Participating in our co-op preschool is a unique and wonderful experience. Your child will receive a remarkable education with exceptional teachers and you will get the privilege of participating in the preschool classroom with your child several times throughout the year. The Ridgewood Co-Op is a warm and loving school that parents help organize. This structure allows for a personal relationship with your child's teacher as you actively engage in your child's first preschool experience.
Enthusiastic parent support is one of the preschool's most valuable resources. Our parents gain a fresh perspective on their preschoolers as they share in the learning process. Children, in turn, gain a wider exposure to a variety of people as their worlds expand. Parent involvement can be as rewarding for the parents as it is for the children. The cooperative environment is a terrific way to get to know other families through special holiday programs, fundraisers, school concerts, and family fun events.
As a parent at the Ridgewood Co-Op, you can:
-Volunteer as a helper in the classroom several times a year* (this is completely optional),
-Participate on the preschool's Board or volunteer two times during the year at one of our school events
-Attend our annual Spring Sing Concert and Scholarship Dinner, a fun event that is also our main fundraiser for the year, and
-Enjoy special community events once a month (some events are for the whole family and others just for adults)
-Have fun and make new friends!
*Any parent or caretaker that chooses to participate in co-oping in our classrooms must submit all the proper paperwork for a complete background check.
